Evgeny Damirovich Valiev was born on May 3rd 1990 in Monchegorsk.
After graduating from his hometown sports academy, Ural Great in Perm, he first played for RBK (Moscow) and since 2007 he has been playing for Triumph.
In 2012/2013 the VTB United League included Valieva in the last of the ten best young players of the season, underlying his strongest assets: “his biggest strength is his ability to hold tight on defense while also being able to explode into an attack and focus on the transition” It’s also worth noting Valiev’s cool calmness and his respectful but confident approach to more experienced players, his discipline and willingness to carry out his trainers suggestions. He is able to manage nearly aspect of the court flying under the radar. His speed, good hands, on the court and persistence on defense coupled with his commanding presence are some of the reasons that Valiev got the call for the national team.
In the summer of 2013 Valiev won the Universiade in Kazan and only a month later he made his debut for the national team.
