Stefan Markovic has joined Zenit

The blue-white-sky blues have reached an agreement for the transfer of the Serbian point guard from SKA.

The 28-year-old from Belgrade is one of the key players of the Serbian national team of Serbia and has played for Hemorfarm-Stada, Benetton, Valencia and Banvit during his career. In June 2014. Markovic joined Spanish team Unicaja and played with Ryan Tulsonom whilst in Malaga.

Stefan was forced to sit out most of the 2015/16 due to an ankle injury but Markovic still had 16 Spanish League games with an average 6.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists, as well as 10 games of Euroleague with the index 3.6 points, 2.1 rebounds and 4.9 assists.

Stefan Markovic has also won the silver medal at the World and European championships for Serbia. At this current Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro the guard has already played four matches in the group stage. In the recent game against the United States, where Serbian only lost by 3 points, Markovic scored 12 points, made 4 rebounds with 4 assists.
