Andrei Spiridonov, "Sergey Karasev will help the blue-white-sky blues become stronger"

The negotiations went on for about six months. We know that Sergei had offers, including from clubs playing in the Euroleague. However Zenit basketball was convinced that we are a rapidly progressing team and the player liked that. He will help the blue-white-sky blues get to that high level. As a result, we have signed a two-year contract with an option for an extra year and we are confident that Karasev will be able to help our team.

When a son joins a team, led by his father, there is a big responsibility from one to each other. Vasiliy must make it clear to the others in the basketball team that Sergei will not get special treatment and that he is the same as his team mates. With players like Timm, Tulson and Karasev, it is necessary to find a place on the court to properly use them. It seems that Vasiliy will be able to cope with this problem: the majority of players, with whom he worked, have all made a step forward in their play.
