Zenit had an unlucky start to the first round of the group stage in the Eurocup suffering a loss at Hungary’s Solnoki Olay and then a tough home loss to Beshiktash. Both losses were very tight and Zenit came up just short against their opponents. Zenit’s next match is on the 29th of October in St. Petersburg.

But Zenit has had some successes in spite of these losses and so it’s worth taking a look at some of these stats.

In both of the matches against Solnoki Olay and with Beshiktash, Zenit was able to score a good amount of points, breaking the 80 point mark on both counts. The losses owe to the fact that they gave up a significant amount of points — 90 or more in both of the matches.

In the away match in Hungary, Zenit had 35 rebounds, 17 assists and 4 steals. Against Beshiktash Zenit had 37 rebounds, 20 passes and 11 steals. But there were too many turnovers to come out with the needed result (Zenit lost the ball 18 times in their first match of the tournament).

Zenit and Beshiktash were the first whose clash led to an overtime in group D and was the third match in two rounds of Eurocup play total that was decided by overtime.

After two rounds int he Eurocup, Zenit is in 4th in regards to total points scored with 180 to their name. The Blue-White-Sky Blues defender is the third best three point shooter in the Eurocups and is averaging 22.5 points per match. Hodge is also in 4th place in the efficiency ratings with 25 points on his tab. The Puerto Rican is the 5th highest rated passer in the league, giving out an average of 7.5 passes per game.
